Pearl Harbor and USS Arizona Memorial undoubtedly is one of the significant World War II sites that we currently have, And Hawaii's Pearl Harbor showcases several such attractions that takes us back to the time when several lost their lives to Japans's most destructive bombings. It is built over a sunken battleship in the memory of those who lost their lives but is now a resting place for many of the 1,177 crewmen killed on December 7, 1941.
As you come here you will be guided on a tour which will take you through the entire Memorial like the Arizona Memorial where you will get to see the sunken battleship, then the National Park Services which will give you the history behind the actual Pearl Harbor, finally comes the Museum where you can see a dramatic collection of World War II- War books, souvenirs, which includes U.S. flags flown on the USS Arizona Memorial. The narrative tour takes about 3 hours to complete
For security reasons, no bags, purses, backpacks, camera bags, etc at the memorials. But you can keep your belongings in the lockers which is available for a small fee
Strollers are not allowed in the theatre, shuttle boat, or on the USS Arizona Memorial
The theatre, Navy shuttle boat, and memorial are wheelchair accessible
You can only take clear bottled water in the theatre, on the shuttle boat, and at the memorial. No other food or beverage is permitted
Military members in uniform are required to dress at Class B or above, and battle attire is not permitted at the USS Arizona Memorial, though it is allowed at the Visitor Center and other sites around Ford Island
The audio tour is available in nine languages: English, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French, Russian, Italian, German, and Spanish
