Do’s

  • Do buy a Seattle pass if you are going around the city, it will save you almost fifty percent on your tickets.
  • Do make a note of your credit card numbers and the phone number to call in case you need to report it stolen and cancel it.
  • Do put a band around your luggage as a safeguard against pilferage while in transit; suitcase locks are no barrier to a professional thief.
  • Do keep vehicle doors locked and windows rolled up when driving.
  • Do use cash substitutes such as traveller’s checks or credit cards, and only carry as much money as you immediately need.

  • Don’t expect rain almost all year long, it doesn’t rain often here.
  • Don’t expect sandy beaches, because most of them are rocky.

  • Enjoy places in the city only, don’t leave the city because I 90 is always jammed in one direction.

  • Don’t visit dangerous locations, or walk in unfamiliar, isolated or dimly lit areas, especially at night.

Night Life

Seattle has great nightlife that goes on till  2 a.m. There are a few eateries where you can have a good time after midnight, when the bars and pubs start to close. If you are a party animal, you have so many options - from sexy jazz clubs to swank speak-easies. The city offers you so many neighbourhoods to suit your style. Check out microbreweries in the city like Elysian, Pike and Pyramid Alehouse Restaurant. They offer great food as well. One of the finest ways to spend an evening is tasting wine with friends.  You also get a variety of deserts here. Sip cold beer while you enjoy a soothing view of the shore and the silent waves. It is a soothing treat for your senses .The city has a popular Hard Rock Cafe with a stylish rooftop bar. You can enjoy the view of Pike Place Market and Elliott Bay from here.

  • Spend a day lounging at sandy beaches, you find them only in West Seattle.
  • See Sound Garden, It has a good collection of metal sculptures.
  • Enjoy a meal at Dick's. This place offers really finger-licking food. You can actually see long queues outside this shop.
  • Explore the Underground City, Seattle witnessed a great fire in 1889, the city was rebuilt on this underground city.
  • Visit the giant shoe museum, located in lower level of Pike Place Market. .
  • Visit the gum wall. Initially, gum was stuck on the wall outside market theatre by a comedian performing in it, when he was not allowed inside. Now people continue doing it and the city has accepted it as a tourist attraction.

  • Ride a man-operated elevator. The operator takes you up to the observatory level, from here you can have an amazing view of Seattle city.
  • Take a ride in a seaplane. It is a 20-minute journey, giving a great overview of the city from above.
