Jade Buddha Temple is a Buddhist Temple built in 1882. The temple is famous for its two Jade Buddha statues; one is 1.92m tall and the other is 0.96 m in height. The statues were imported to Shanghai from Burma by sea. It is one of the top 10 attractions to visit in Shanghai and the best place to enjoy a spiritual experience of the Buddhist culture. The architecture of the temple dates back to the Song-dynasty. This is a famous religious temple, which attracts more visitors, especially during the Chinese New Year.
Several religious events take place in the temple. The temple houses several ancient paintings and Buddhist sculptures in different halls. You can enjoy a meal in the vegetarian restaurant located within the temple premises, which serves dishes such as double mushroom and lion head noodles, Arhat Noodles, vegetarian duck, vegetarian chicken etc. The average cost of a meal is 30 yuan.
