About Hangzhou

At the end of the age-old Grand Canal waterway, stands Hangzhou. The capital of Zhejiang Province, it has been designated by the government as a "Historic and Cultural City". The ancient city is renowned for its multiple handicraft traditions including silk and tea production and porcelain and bronze sculptures. A part of China that speaks loudly about the traditions and practices of the country, there are still little portions or slices that feel cut off from the world, exposing a more raw and undiluted way of life. The experiences here soothing and calming offer tourists a unique perspective into the life of the Chinese. From graceful tea tastings to trekking against mountains surrounded by Buddha statues and caves undisturbed, to the temples ancient, mystical and foreign Hangzhou never seizes to disappoint the adventurous, ever so curious traveller.
