Kazakh State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet is situated on the left bank of the river Ishim and was founded in 2013 on the initiative of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. A beautiful architectonic building constructed on the basis of the best classical architectural traditions entwined with the Kazakh national motifs. The main architect is Renato Archetti and the whole Opera house construction took about three years. There is also a large chandelier made of bohemian crystallization and illuminated by 221 light balls. In the main entrance, the floor, walls, decorative panels, and twisted marble staircases are decorated with Sicilian marble. The hall's interior is made of majestic white marble and the design is a combination between a classic Greco-Roman style and Kazakh design traditions. Visit the house to experience an aesthetic pleasure. Wall paintings in the hall portray the nature of Kazakhstan, the lake Burabay is depicted here and the paintings are done by an Italian painter by hand. The painting also creates 3D actualization. The opera house’s main hall is designed for 1250 seats in a 19th century-style setting. It has some of the best acoustics and all other performances are rich in traditions and culture with western fusions too. The best show is Kazakh ballets which consist of the Kazakhstan culture, habits and traditions. The orchestra pit is designed for 120 musicians and the rehearsal hall for 100 people. The theatre is open for all social groups of the population, including people with disabilities.
