The 'National Museum Of The Republic of Kazakhstan', with its 74,000 square meters building, is the largest museum in Central Asia. It is located in the capital of Kazakhstan, formerly known as 'Astana', now called 'Nur Sultan' in honor of the passing away of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev'. This brand new museum had been completed on 2nd July 2014, serving as a representative of the history of Kazakhstan.
The museum gets you involved by delivering rich heritage and history of Kazakhstan. The glass and marble building consists of seven floors arranged in chronological order. The museum gives you a chance to see ancient artifacts and antiques enhancing your knowledge regarding the country you are visiting. They help in understanding the diverse culture of Kazakhstan. The structure of the building and arrangement of museum items makes it in a chronological setting, helping you understand the history better. The museum contains many spaces and halls designated for particular historic topics. The halls and rooms include: 'Hall of Ancient and Midieval History', 'Hall of History', 'Hall of Kazakhistan Independency', 'Ethnography Hall', and many others. There is also halls named, the 'Gold Hall 1' and 'Gold Hall 2' that contain gold artifacts and valuable relics.
Apart from being a tourist destination, the museum serves as a place of learning and education. It conducts scientific activities and researches as well. The museum also has an entire department called, 'Department of Museum Pedagogy and Children's Creativity'. Its main job is to make the museum more fun, eventful and full of learning for children and adolescents. The aim is to get kids knowing more about the museum and its exhibits.
From 'Nur Sultan Airport' you could take an hour long bus ride to 'Kazakh-Turkish Litsey', and then walk for 1.2 kilometers (14 minutes). The cost of this route is 1 UDS (405 KZT).
