The 91m-high tall Kazak Yeli monument is a huge white column. Opened in 2008 to symbolize the historic destiny of Kazakhstan's people
Many political and international conferences are held here. Two major attractions of Astana the National Museum and Palace of Peace are the closest attractions.
On the top of the monument is placed a golden eagle, highlighting part of the Astana skyline. There are historical figures placed on the base, heroic batyrs from the Golden Horde, a dombra-playing musician, a contemporary couple with a child, and a 5m bronze relief of President Nazarbayev. There are some interesting paintings that depict the history of Kazakhstan. This is a large and suitable place to get relaxed with the whole family. The monument looks like a white marble colonnade and is very much the new central square with fantastic architectural constructions.
From Astana station, it is about 8.2 km, a taxi will charge around 3 to 5 USD.
