About City Park, Astana

The large city park starts from the Khan Shatyr shopping center and finishes at the Presidential palace. The park is situated on the south side of Ishim river. The one who loves nature will love to visit this park. The park has beautiful flowers, lawn, monuments, and the clock tower. An ideal place to relax on a bench for an hour or the entire day. Tourists mostly visit here to take photos and there is a signboard that says "I love Astana" just before the Khan Shatyr. Children can enjoy their visit here as lots of playthings, rides are available. There is an amusement park with a roller coaster and Ferris wheel, which are relatively cheap. It is basically a long park in the middle of the city with lots of sculptures, flowers, buildings, and stunning views. In the evening, the grandiose city landmarks come to life, illuminated with shimmering lights.

  • There are lots of things one can see inside the park especially the beautiful fountain and the stunning view of nature.
  • Kids love it because there are different interesting rides
  • It’s one of the most photographed places in all of Astana and there is also a signed Board of "I love Astana" 
  • Inside the park, there are thousands of fascinating exotic plants and flowerbeds which make the park colorful and fragrant.

How to reach

 Bus route 40 reaches the destination Khan Shatyr. One can also take a taxi which will take around 17 minutes.

Tips

  • The park is mainly for walkers so it is not a suitable place for the handicapped.
  • One should wear proper footwear. However, the park is often overcrowded on weekends, so weekday is better for visiting the park
  •  In winter it is too cold to go around
  •  Don't forget to carry your cameras to capture the views
  •  Always carry an ample amount of water so that u can stay hydrated during the walk
  • Make sure to carry sunscreen if it is sunny outside
  • This place is ideal for children as many rides are there.
  • Lots of other attractions are situated at a walking distance, so easily on a single day one can cover most of the attractions
  •  For a better view of the park try to go on top of Baiterek Tower
