About Lotus Hill

A natural scenic spot, with red sandstone, low hills, and an ancient quarry site dating back 2000 years. A very scenic location where you can see the gold statue of the Goddess of Mercy, that is considered to be the biggest in the world. The Goddess is said to have thrown the lotus into the water to save the people from the evil dragon.  A truly mesmeric place that has everything; history, sculpture, art, religion, architecture, water features, flowers etc.... You get to witness all this and much more at the same place. It's worth all your time and effort.

How to reach

Metro line 3 till Shiqiao station and then go by bus Pan 92 to Lianhuashan Bus Station, you will reach the Lotus Hill.
Metro line 3 to Panyu Square and then by bus Pan 93 to Lianhuashan Bus Station, you will reach the Lotus Hill.

Tips

  • There are some good restaurants in Lotus Hill. A scenic spot replete with culture,  combining natural beauty with human ventures.
  • The staircase of eight gods towards the statue of Guan Yin may be tiring for some. Both the Statue and the view of the Lianhua Port are here.
  •  A lot of walking to do, but really worth a visit. So, be prepared to walk.
  • Check out if English speaking guides are available or not.
  • You will find souvenir shops with things to buy for good luck, prosperity, health, friendship, and success in life.
