About Guangzhou Opera House

Award-winning architecture, equipped with the latest acoustic technologies, ensures an outstanding sound. It was planned by Zaha Hadid, the first female winner of the grand “Pritzker Architecture Prize.”  In May 2010, the first performance of Puccini’s Turandot was exhibited here. It has since gone on to on to team up with New York’s Metropolitan Opera, the English National Opera and Lithuanian National Opera. A visitor can have the pleasure of watching classical operas as well as Chinese musicals.

How to reach

  • To travel towards this attraction take bus 293. 886. 886A to Xiancun Lunan Station.
  • Tourists can also take subway line APM ;Theatre Station or Line Three;Zhujiang New Town; Exit B1

 

Tips

  • Eat before as drinking and eating at the theatre is limited. 
  • Come early so as to have the time to observe the spacious and remarkable exterior and interior architecture.
  • Guided tours are available.
  • It can be difficult to find a cab, so take the subway or book a taxi in advance of the show.
  • Visit the opera house in the evening. At night, it is lit up magnificently.
