About Guangdong Museum

The Guangdong Museum is one of four major cultural landmark buildings in the Pearl River New Town of Guangzhou. The collection is housed in this five-storey museum. From 1959 to 2003, the museum was at the People’s Government of Guangdong Province. A new building for Guangdong Museum started to welcome visitors in 2010. It looks like a fragile antique container of treasures. There are permanent as well as temporary exhibitions showcasing the Guangdong history and culture,

Tips

.

  • Small items (less than 45cm×50cm×40cm) can be stored in the left-luggage room. 
  • Free admission tickets can be ontained at the ticket office from 8:50 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Every person  needs a valid Id to get one ticket. Tickets are only valid only on the day of issuance.
  • An adult can accompany a child under 1.2 m without tickets.
  • Reserve tickets via the telephone 3 days in advance for groups. If tickets are not claimed on time, they will be cancelled
  • The museum's daily ticket issuance quota is 5,000.
  • Leaflets on exhibitions and activities are free. The audio guide tour, interpretation tour, souvenir and books etc. are fee-based services.
