The Smith Tower is more than 100 years old. Until the completion of the Kansas City Power & Light Building in 1931, this was the tallest building west of the Mississippi River. For nearly half a century, until the Space Needle overtook it in 1962, it remained the tallest building on the West Coast. But still people visit this because of the great view it provides, also the museum on the 35th floor is worth a visit. People really enjoy food and wine here. Smith Tower is an example of neoclassical architecture. The exterior part of the tower is built with granite on the first and second floors and terracotta on the remaining floors. This tower is really special because since construction the exterior part has been washed only once, in 1976. The doors are latticed, so a rider can see into each hallway and through the glass walls in front of each office. The Space Needle, Great Wheel, Columbia Centre, Pioneer Square, Mount Rainier, the Cascade Mountains, the Olympic Mountains offer a great view from here. The most interesting thing about this tower is that it was built by a person named Smith who was a visitor to Seattle. Although he couldn't see the completion of this tower, today it's one of the top attractions in Seattle.
The Observation Deck and Chinese Room situated on the 35th floor gives great view of seattle.
