About Pier 39

Any tourist attraction with shopping and sea lions is worth checking out. That is why Pier 39, San Francisco's iconic waterfront attraction, is such a crowd favorite, even though it's a bit touristy. The popular entertainment center is filled with great eateries, souvenir shops, bars, carousel, and virtual 3 D rides.

The pier also provides splendid views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. But the highlight for most visitors seems to be the sea lions. They can be found lolling on the docks without a care in the world. Pier 39 is a great place to spend an hour or two.
