San Francisco Chinatown is the largest Chinese community-locality outside of Asia and the oldest in the US. Established in 1848, tourists pour into this bustling place filled with scores of restaurants, souvenir shops, antique stores, tea shops, temples, and other assorted businesses for an authentic Chinese encounter. 

A hive of activity during the day, the best way to enjoy the place is to just wander in and out of the numerous little alleys. There's a great chance that you will run into something interesting. Bursting with color and smells, this densely packed neighborhood is a slice of China in San Francisco.
