The Muradiye Mosque construction was inspired by a dream of the King Sultan Murad II. A dream that instructed the King to build a relevant structure for religious worship of his fellow brothers. This religious site got established in the 1400s and since then has survived many Greek invasions in Turkey. The mosque is located uphill and offers tourists a beautiful view of the Edirne landscape. With two main sections, an Islamic school, and a museum there is a lot to explore in the mosque, But what sets it apart is the use of Iznik tiles in the construction of the mosque. One of the most beautiful mosques in Edirne, this is one of the top ten places to visit when in the city.
Muradiye Mosque is located on a hill, on the north-eastern side of Edirne. It can be reached by a 15-minute walk from Selimiye Mosque along the Mimar Sinan street.
