The huge statue adorns the city center just opposite the central mosque. Made in honor of the Late Sultan Fatih Mehmet who led the Ottomans while conquering Istanbul. The sultan was a genius and engineered many canons in his times to be used in warfare. He was the man behind the making of Edirne as the capital of their empire. The landscaping around the statue is very well planned and it also features several other artifacts for tourists to view. This landmark of the city is a reminder of the glorious past and a great location for tourists to explore and understand the luxuriant historical legacy of the city.
