The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus was one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is 140 feet (43m) high. It was almost completely destroyed by an earthquake in 1304, but its best-preserved pieces are housed in London's British Museum. It houses the tomb of King Mausolus, the Persian King of Caria.
The castle itself is an epitome of splendour and magnificence.
