About Sedir Island

Want to make a romantic getaway with the love of your life? Then, head to the Sedir Island a.k.a Cleopatra Island. This is a small island situated in the Gulf of Gökova of the southeastern Aegean Sea off the Ula coast. It is famous for its beach made from seashells. It is well known that this organic sand was specially brought by ships from the Red Sea for Cleopatra. Every grain of sand is a perfect sphere. As per legend, Anthony and Cleopatra swam here and the sands were brought by ships from North Africa. It has been said that this type of sand can only be found in Egypt. It’s a bit hard and expensive to get there but as long as you are there you can enjoy the rest of your day basking on the sun-kissed sands or cooling off in the welcoming waters.
