The Pushkin Museum was constructed in 1912, initially bearing the name of the State Museum of Fine Arts. It was renamed the Pushkin Museum as a commemoration of the 100th year death anniversary of the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. It is today known as one of the largest museum collections of Western art containing a wide array of artworks from numerous periods and time across history. It offers guided tours in many languages, and tourists come from all over the world to walk through this monument to admire its treasured collection, which includes the Parthenon statues, Impressionist paintings from artists like Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin, as well as new contemporary artists that reflect today’s modern society
