What’s the best way to spend some family time than to go to a zoo? Moscow Zoo is Russia’s largest zoo that harbors an outstanding number and variation of animals coming from all parts of the world. It was constructed in 1864 by a public society and was then bought by a private owner. It was finally given to the Moscow City Soviet in 1923 and while it was open during World War II, it had suffered numerous bouts of destruction. The zoo spans over 49 acres in which visitors can find unbarred enclosures that give animals the freedom and space to roam about. This experience is definitely one that can be enjoyed by the family, whether it is the children or the parents, and visitors are advised to take advantage of the hot summer days to have the best enjoyable experience.
The zoo is the home for more than 6000 animals.
