Ballet, Opera and Theatrical performance lovers, rejoice! The Bolshoi Theatre is one of the oldest and most widely known ballets and opera academy in the world. It was first built by Joseph Bove, a famous architect that had won a design competition. While it was rebuilt and reconstructed several times, it is one of Moscow’s icons that cannot be left out from one’s visit and its continuous development is to provide better acoustics that will reflect the sound of the pre-Soviet period. With its huge white columns and impressively grand exterior, it leaves little to one's imagination as to how the interiors would be. The interiors are equally breathtaking and give way to a circular, high-ceiling theatre colored gold and deep red that can just take one’s breath away.
