It is a tribute to a great Russian soldier Lenin, who shaped both Russian and world history. It is a perfect example of the twentieth-century ritualistic architecture. It also includes the graves of some other influential Russians. The mausoleum is known for its religious pull for citizens of the officially atheistic Soviet Union, with people standing irrespective of the long queues just to pay their respects to the great leader. In the future, the tomb could be closed for visitors, so do not miss the chance to view the preserved body of the historical warrior of the twentieth century.
Lenin Mausoleum can be reached by cab, train or subway/metro. The Okhotny Ryad station on Line 1 is the closest to Red Square, where the mausoleum is located. From Moscow Airport, one can take Moscow Aeroexpress or taxi. It takes 1 hour to travel from the airport to the Mausoleum.
