Valletta's old fresh market has been renovated as a food hall that serves everything from pizza to Turkish kebabs and Asian street food. Maltese offerings include bakery and seafood, and there's a handy but pricey supermarket below if you're renting an apartment and self-catering. The place sells an international range of foods, including many Waitrose products from the U.K., and fresh fruits and vegetables. Many Valletta eateries are shut on Sundays, but Is-Suq Tal-Belt is open all days.
It’s always good to see old buildings refurbished & reinvented. Il Suq was once the old market hall and is now a somewhat upmarket tourist attraction. On the ground level is a food court/dining area, where you can buy from any of the outlets and eat inside. The service is quick and pleasant.
The market is 220 m away from the city center. The place can be reached within 3 minutes.
