About Auberge de Castille

Created by Girolamo Cassar but later rebuilt under Grand Master di Pinto, Auberge de Castille is one of the finest architectural marvels in Malta, as evidenced by its magnificent façade. Finely proportioned and rigidly symmetrical, the structure was severely damaged during World War II but was later restored. The building highlights  16th-century architecture and was once the home of the Spanish and Portuguese league of the Knights of St John. The place currently is the office of the Maltese prime minister (not open to the public).
