About Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a covered passage linking Piazza della Scala and Piazza Duomo. It is a shopping mall which was built during 1865 and 1877 was named after the last king of Italy. The structure was designed by the Architect Giuseppe Mengoni in an eclectic style. It was formed by two arcades shaped like a Latin cross covered by a glass and iron dome. The Galleria is located between two important monuments, the Milan il Duomo and the Teatro alla Scala. The mall is always crowded with locals and tourists who came to explore and enjoy the wide range of brands and restaurants.
