An ancient historic building in Chennai, 'The Vivekananda House or Vivekanandar Illam (earlier known as Ice House or Castle Kernan), is an important landmark. The place holds a great inspirational appraise as the reverend Hindu monk, Vedic philosopher, and a change maker Swami Vivekananda’s resided here in 1897. This spectacular building is now known for its architecture and its immense collection of the great philosopher's memoirs. This place is maintained by Sri Ramakrishna Math, it is an exhibition of Vivekananda‘s life and Indian culture. Swamy's teachings can be perceived by visiting the gallery, meditation room, and Vivekananda Park. The vision and teachings of Swami Vivekanand had a great impact on the youth of those time and the legacy continues even today.
