It is a long bridge built over the Yangzi river. Its construction was started by the Russians and completed by the Chinese. The construction has 9 huge bridge pylons (each with a cross-sectional area of some 400 sq. m) in the hostile river environment. In those days, without modern machinery, it was quite a challenge to work on such intricate structures. There is a small historical conference room where a model of the bridge is displayed. This bridge is the longest dual function bridge of highway and railway listed in the Guinness Book of Records. It is worth a visit for the tourists in Nanjing.
One can take local buses with number 1, 67 or 69 to Nanbao Gongyuan (Bridge Park).
