About Big Banyan Tree

The Big Banyan Tree Park in Yangshuo County is a top attraction that features a tall banyan tree approximately 17 meters high and 7 meters wide. It has survived over the centuries and radiates a raw, unmatched beauty that draws in throngs of tourists every year. The staggering banyan tree towering the skyline resembles a huge green umbrella with branches and a thick canopy that restricts sunshine from penetrating through. According to the traditions of the Zhuang People, in ancient times they regarded animals, plants, and mountains as gods and this 1,400-year-old banyan tree was also treated like a god and worshipped. Many domestic tourists still visit to worship the ‘God tree.'
