The Ghazi Stadium, also called the Kabul National Stadium, is one of the recently renovated stadiums in Kabul. The stadium was built a long time ago but it was taken over by the Taliban government. It was a place for public executions until it was liberated and subsequently renovated. After renovations, the stadium serves as a hub for all of the sports enthusiasts in the city. You can come and visit the stadium, and on days where no matches are scheduled, you can play any of the sports facilitated by the stadium. On the days that matches are scheduled, the stadium, which can hold up to 25,000 people sees heavy footfall from all the people supporting their favourite teams. The matches are held almost every day but not all of them are league matches, sometimes the local teams will play and the people would just visit to watch the game. On various event days such as Independence Day or Eid, many people gather in the stadiums to celebrate the festivities which makes it an even more popular attraction.
