The Bala Hissar Fort is one of the popular attractions in Kabul. The fort has played a pivotal role in many of the wars, both ancient and modern and still stands tall to tell the tales. Wreckage from all sorts of wars makes this place nothing less than a museum to the right set of eyes. It hides many secrets within its walls and chambers. The fort was divided into two separate parts and has different things in both of them; the lower fort containing the stables and barracks and the upper fort ( the actual namesake) containing the armory and the dungeons. In its prime, the Bala Hissar served as the principal fort for all of Kabul, and even today it stands proud after surviving numerous attacks and braving multiple wars. The fort currently houses the Afghan National Army and you can see their defense equipment overlooking the city. The fort is one of the oldest attractions in Kabul, adorned with the gorgeous Kabul Wall. It also presents scenery like no other.
