This archaeological site and renowned tourist attraction in the city of Perge has seen numerous excavations and still stands proud with marks of its glorious past. Perge is one of the most important cities of ancient Pamphylia and dedicated to the goddess Artemis whose temple stood on a hill outside the town, though not much has been traced about the building by researchers. It takes at least 3 hours to visit the place completely and soak in the atmosphere. It's a privilege to witness the best-preserved buildings of the city the theater and the stadium and get captivated by the tales of their magnificent royalty of the past. The tomb of Plancia Magna cannot be missed as it stands right where you enter the city. The tremendous, huge entrance gates are also a wonder for the travelers coming here. Along with the majestic ruins, the place offers a package of picturesque natural beauty.
One can catch the new tram (Antray) to the Meydan stop. It costs 2TL each way. At the Meydan stop, you will see a bus depot. Some of the drivers speak a little English and are very helpful. You may want to take the AC03 to Aksu. You can pick up the AC03 from the main boulevard, it simply drives past the station. The bus may only run every 90 minutes. Once you cross the airport you will see a couple of brown tourist attraction signs that say "Perge 2". There is a bus that travels between Antalya and Alanya. One needs to get off the bus at a place called Aksu. From there small (Dolmus) can take you to Perge.
