Home to numerous art galleries, exhibition halls, open-air exhibits, and age-old artifacts and the antiques conserved since ages in the Antalya largest museum, the Antalya museum. The Museum comprises of 13 halls, a children section, and a massive open-air art gallery. Having acquired the “European Council Special prize" the museum exhibits artwork that illuminates the history of the ancient Antalya. A display window exhibits fossils from pre-Paleolithic period to the Roman era. A hall of Gods in the museum house statues of the deities worshipped by the masses then. Incredible artifacts and many impressive marble sculptures from the Roman Empire sit there to reveal stories untold. Zeus, Hercules and many other 5000-year-old artifacts that were deep in the ground are now on display inside this museum. The museum offers a very holistic and personal experience which people of all ages will like, learn from and intend to explore.
The museum is 20 minutes walk from the old city and located at the end of the nostalgic tram line. It is situated about a mile (1.6 km) west of central Antalya in Konyaalti. The museum can also be accessed via a walk through the Konyaalti Ataturk beach park. One should need at least more than two hours to roam around the museum.
