This ancient fortified city of Termessos is believed to be one of the best preserved of the ancient cities of turkey. Termessos Also Called as the Eagle's Nest because of its location between two peaks on the Gulluk Mountain of Antalya, Mount Güllük-Termessos National Park is a place worth spending a day. The National Park is situated 34 km northwest of Antalya, in the Taurus mountains in the Korkuteli district. The attractions in the park include the steep rocks of Gulluk Mountain and Mecine Canyon with walls as high as around 600 meters high. With an area of tents and caravan and also plenty of restaurants the place has many untold stories to narrate. An amazingly well kept ancient historical site gives an opportunity to see many temples and monuments dedicated to the Gods and a variety of rare species of plants all over the place. While the monumental Tomb is one of the key highlights, the massive theater, and ancient cemeteries should not be missed either. Walking around the ruins make it a point to read all the inscriptions that convey a lot of insightful details about this place.
It is 34 Km northwest of Antalya. One can reach here by Car or taxi. It is situated on the slopes of Gulluk mountain to the north of Antalya It was started with Alexander the Great’s arrival in 333 BC.
