Houmt Souk is the main old town of the island on the northern coast of Djerba island. The town is best known for its traditional souk and the Aghlabid fortress. The town is a place to buy traditional handicrafts in the souk streets such as Berber jewelry, textiles, traditional shoes, brass and silverware, leather goods, and hand-painted pottery. The place is just a shopaholic's dream.
