Chott el Djerid is popularly known for being a large salt lake in the Sahara of southern Tunisia. The crystallization of the salt is dazzling and glints in the sunshine.
Take a bus from Djerba to Auberge Ben Ahmed, then to El Faouar, and then to Chott el Djerid, about a 5 hour journey.
