About Guellala Museum

The Guellala Museum is the only museum in Djerba that is famous for its folk art and traditions. The museum also talks about Djerban traditional clothing, wedding ceremonies, and rituals. The entire building of the museum is made of white stone which was found in Africa. It showcases the history of Tunisia.

How to reach

SRT de Medenine buses stop on the highway at the start of the road leading up to the museum. A taxi from Houmt Souk will cost around 10 TND. It will cost around 12 TND from the Zone Touristique and 5.5 TND from Erriadh.

  • Have a look at the gift shop and pick up a small, handcrafted memento of the island.
  • Do not smoke inside the museum.
  • Don't bring alcohol.
  • Obey the museum rules.
