Built between 1711 and 1718 and made entirely of sandstone from Ostermundigen, the Kornhaus is the city of Bern’s most famous restaurant. The restaurant is considered to be an outstanding example of Bernese High Baroque style as well and the best part is that it also happens to be extremely unique in concept and also remains open every day of the year. The menu essentially boasts to be Mediterranean inspired and the wine list also includes something that will suit all palates and occasions. The Gallery consists of a lounge and a bar as well as a perfect place to linger over a drink. There are many events that take place here! The Kornhauskeller is truly unique, remarkable on account of both its size and splendour. The Münger frescos have now been joined by a special ambience reflecting contemporary gastronomic themes.
