About Jungfraujoch

The Jungfraujoch is a glacial pass between the Jungfrau and Mönch mountains. You can get there by train from Interlaken, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, and Kleine Scheidegg. Jungfraujoch has been nicknamed the “Top of Europe” because, at over 10,300 feet, it's the highest train station in Europe. Experience a whole different world on the Jungfraujoch. First, feast your eyes on the Eismeer, the Sea of Ice. Imagine what Switzerland must have once looked like with ice and blankets of snow. Warm-up by turning on Lindt’s magic chocolate mixing machine for a bite of heavenly chocolate at the Lindt Swiss Chocolate Heaven. When your belly is full of sweets, put your parka back on for a tour of the Ice Palace. The halls were chiselled with picks and saws in the 1930s. Ice sculptures of penguins and bears will astound you, as they melt even in the -3°C temperatures. And for a final alpine experience on the Jungfraujoch, take a tour along the trail through the icy world to the Mönchsjochhütte. Daily life and the simplest of tasks at almost 11,000 feet above sea level can be a challenge!
