Constructed between the years 1858 and 1860, the historic station of Bern has been renovated several times over the course of the years that have gone by. Operated by Swiss Federal Railways, it happens to be the country's second-largest train station. It also offers tourist information apart from many other services that include services like ticketing and currency exchange. What stands out in the whole structure is its large glass exterior. When you enter the station, it pretty much resembles an international airport terminal with brilliant modern amenities. If the transportation options had not been enough, the station also happens to be famous for its shopping centre that contains close to 70 shops that are open daily and they remain open even after other shops in the station have closed.
