About Copernicus Science Centre

Experience the adults turning into kids and kids into adults at this amazing "science paradise," rather "science shrine" with lots of hands-on science gizmos interactive and fun for children and curious adults, stimulating their curiosity and senses. Located in a futuristic building on the banks of the river Vistula, at the entrance, get greeted by a huge Foucault's pendulum swinging from the roof of the center. If you have time, you can watch the pendulum knock over the surrounding balls as it processes due to the Earth's rotation. Inside, there are many more exhibits and experiments which help you gain an understanding of science. The Space dedicated to science is staggering and the hours simply pass by quickly while exploring the experiments of this museum. Amazing way of introducing everyone to science and explaining most of the phenomenas, the Copernicus science center is a massive show, of all sorts of scientific explanations, for all sorts of subjects, from magnetic, wind, sound and physics, chemistry experiments, to social political and regional statistics. The complex includes the center with exhibitions, garden on the roof and a separate building with a planetarium and spherical cinema. How about touching a real meteorite in the Planetarium? Tips

  • Closed on Mondays.
  • There is a separate ticket for the planetarium.
  • There are a cafe and a restaurant on the premises.
  • The Center is really full of amazing exhibitions. You can easily spend over four hours here.
  • Descriptions for the exhibits are in Polish and English.
  • The Center doesn't offer guides but in each room, there are animators (resident experts) who are more than happy to help if you have any questions.
  • The museum is very popular and can be overcrowded during weekends
  •  It provides free usage of the cloakroom.
