About Castle Square

A real nice "postcard" scenario of Warsaw, Castle Square is the perfect backdrop for a beautiful castle in an even more beautiful city. It is a beautiful square that encompasses the essence of Poland and its past. It's a brilliant public space, expansive and grand in feel, surrounded by the most wonderful old buildings. This large open square is flanked by a fascinating Castle. The most prominent feature of the square is a tall column dedicated to the Polish King Sigismund. The square is a gateway to old-style houses, restaurants, cafes, and bars - a bustling place, full of interest and activity. It is dominated by the Zygmunt Column and is flanked by many historic buildings including the Royal Castle. The history of this place is extraordinary. You can see the beautiful red castle from outside and you can also explore it from the inside. You can go up to the view tower and enjoy the view of the Castle Square from above. There is also a terrace with a view on National Stadium. For sure, it is a wonderful place for romantic walks at night. In winter there is a huge Christmas Tree in front of the Castle. There are also Christmas lights in the entire Old Town, which makes the walk breathtaking. The castle has different facades and designs. As different kings were responsible for the designs and constructions of these buildings, thus varying designs. The square walls offer an amazing view of the whole city around and beyond. This square has a different charm during the day and the night experience is rather different. While bustling during the day, the night has buskers and hawkers out. Enjoy the ride of horse and carriages, stationed under the castle for tourists to take a tour around the city, and get awed by the brilliant lighting of the castle at night.
