About Inca Trail

25 miles of raw breathtaking beauty

Kilometer 82 - Patallaqta - Wayllabamba - Warmiwanusqa - Sun Gate - Macchu Pichu; an entire 25 miles; that just about sums up the 'Classic Inca Trail'. Easy enough? Not really - much of those miles are steep, narrow, arduous climbs that test your brain and brawn. But once on the way, there are no regrets. Misty Andean peaks, cool cloud covers, verdant valley views, exotic Latino birds, scattered Inca ruins and the final awesome sighting of Macchu Pichu through the Inti Punku or the Sun Gate at sunrise; you've experienced a different paradise and the place you are in is on the ''top of the world''. Good things come to the deserving and you've deserved your reward at the end of this difficult journey. The access to Macchu Pichu through the Sun Gate is only given to those doing this not-so-easy trek. Your companions will be the guides and porters, young and old carrying cooking and camping equipment. It is a 4-day 3-night journey, so make sure your tour operator knows what he is doing. And your instincts will take over once you take your first foot forward. Follow them for ''The woods are lovely, dark and deep'' but you have ''miles to go before you sleep''.
