Also known as Gol Masjid, Masjid-e-Tooba or Tooba Mosque is located in Karachi and was built in 1969. Constructed with pure white marble, Masjid-e-Tooba is often claimed to be the largest single dome mosque in the world. The dome is 72 meters (236 feet) in diameter with no pillars to support it; it is balanced on a low surrounding wall. The minaret of the Masjid-e-Tooba is 70 meters high. The mosque is the 18th largest in the world. In the main hall around 5,000 people can pray at a time. The Masjid gives a beautiful adhan. Without a doubt, Pakistan's most flighty mosque, the Defense Housing Authority Mosque is a genuinely odd structure that was worked in the late 1960s. The low-threw mosque is contained under one tremendous arch with no supporting segments or vaults. With a distance across of 72m, the tentlike arch professes to be the world's biggest. Developed of white marble, it has a large number of mirror tiles in its thermally sealed inside, giving the impression of twinkling stars. This mosque was designed by Pakistani architect Dr. Babar Hamid Chauhan and boasts of its mirror work, adding glamor and elegance to the architecture.
It is around 8km away from the city center.
You could take a direct taxi and reach the mosque in 7 minutes costing around 500 PKR.
