The Museum of Stamps and Coins is an amazing cultural extravaganza situated on the open terrace in Fontvieille; where, on one side, is the marina and, on the other, Prince's private collection of cars. Though the space is relatively small for a traditional museum, it has large enough rooms to compose the Philatelic and Monetary history of the Principality. You can find a vast and rich history of fantastic items. At the entrance, you can find an old stamp production machine, together with the original matrices. The content that is presented by philately is really abundant, initially these collections were part of an old collection of the "Postcard Museum" (1950), there are several series with characters from the Grimaldi family, automobiles, photos in general and illustrations of the Principality are the most complete Monegasque stamps printed since the year 1885. When you move around, you'll realize that coins are the most precious pieces of the museum, with several years of history drawn in metals that circulated throughout Europe. The museum consists of rare coins over 350 years old - from the Franc to the Euro - it is an incredible historical collection and worthy of the noble Monegasque royalty.
It's about 1.7 km. Take bus numbers 4 and 6 to reach the museum directly. The fare is 2 Euros.
