About Vytautas Kasiulis Art Museum

The Vytautas Kasiulis Art Museum is situated in a beautiful Neo-Classical building dating back to the 20th century. It combines both a museum and an art gallery and houses a permanent collection of the many works by Vytautas Kasiulis donated to Lithuania. In 1944 Vytautas Kasiulis escaped Lithuania and fled to Austria. Afterward, Germany was his destination and at the end of the journey, he ended up settling in the beautiful city of Paris. The museum also beautifully puts on many temporary shows and plays host to many music concerts as well. The museum is a true testament to the unique and wonderful heritage of Lithuania. With almost 600 paintings, various graphic works and drawings, the museum makes for a wonderful place to understand the cultural and artistic heritage of the country.
