Situated in the very heart of the city of Vilnius, the Bernardine Garden is surrounded by the Gediminas Hill, the Vilnelė River, and the Bernardine Monastery. The park is popular for many things: its botanical and monastic fairs, numerous restored park elements like the alpinarium, Azure Pond, Belvedere Hill, a beautiful central square, and the pristine paths along the Vilnelė River. During remodeling, the architects made sure that the fountains were rebuilt in their historical locations only. The garden also features a rose garden, children’s playgrounds, and a musical fountain. The botanical fair that takes place here features many plants sorted into various groups and classes. Of the many things that the visitors will be able to see here, the Ginko tree, the yellow dogwood, and three of the oldest oak trees in Vilnius are some of those wonderful displays. The park also offers students special sessions during which biology teachers are able to hold classes when children may plant various plants and care for them.
