About Mitaki-dera

Out of Hiroshima's many fine well-known temples, the most charming is Mitaki-dera, a Buddhist temple. Go there early in the morning to listen to the beautiful sound of rushing water through the mist. You get a sense of tranquillity and peace once you reach here. Stone steps weave their way up through a panoply of small and large Buddhist statues. The temple has some spectacular treks around it. It's a short 45 minutes to the top, and you can see all of the city and the surrounding Inland Sea. This is a magical place that everyone should visit in Hiroshima. Skip this place only if you are not a nature lover, or you have small children who would not let you enjoy the tranquillity.
