The Government House is also called the House of Culture with many historical exhibits, colorful displays of modern art, rich colonial ambiance and grassy gardens. It is the second oldest structure of Belize and served as the residence of superintendents and other top government officials of Belize during the days of British Honduras. Now, transformed into a cultural museum, the Government House continues to be a major historical and political landmark of Belize. Among the artifacts on display, you can see archival records, documents, and photos along with original wooden furnishings and silverware.
It is around 3 Kms from the city center and can be reached by taxi. If you want to enjoy the sights of the city, walking is also a good option.
