The 1972 Olympic Games were hosted in Munich, and many of the venues created then are located in what is now called the Olympiapark. It covers an area of around 2.7 million square meters on the Oberwiesenfeld, which used to be a training ground for the Royal Bavarian Army. Now it is a major recreational center and hosts a variety of major concerts and events. There are also many activities like stadium roof climbing, zip lining and guided tours showcasing the facility's splendid architecture. It houses a 290-meter-high television tower called the Olympic Tower that has viewing platforms offering breath-taking views of the city. This is a good place to take a walk and explore the beautiful scenery of the park and surroundings.
