About Nymphenburg Palace

Nymphenburg is a beautiful and luxurious castle complex of the Bavarian rulers, housing an extensive park with unique waterworks, home to rich sculptures and extraordinary park castles. The original garden has been repeatedly expanded and modified over the years and has now turned into a beautiful landscape and scenic marvel. Extending more than 600 meters from wing to wing, this huge palace is surrounded by the Nymphenburg Canal on each side. There is a lot to see in this 200-hectare park. Spend a day at Nymphenburg and explore the magnificent palace, museum, and garden. This is a place where you can see and learn many historic and cultural facts about Munich.

How to reach

Take the S-Bahn  to "Laim", then bus to "Schloss Nymphenburg" or U-Bahn  to "Rotkreuzplatz", then tram to "Schloss Nymphenburg". Use the short trip tickets starting from 1.70 EUR for up to 3 stations with S-Bahn and U-Bahn or 6 stations with bus or tram.

S-Bahn: S1/S2/S3/S4/S6/S8

Bus route: 143 / 51

It is 5.4 Kms from city center. You can take a taxi via Arnulfstraße and the fare will come upto 12 EUR.

Tips

  • Wear comfortable shoes as you will have to walk quite a distance to explore the palace and garden.
  • Food and beverages may not allowed into the museum rooms.
  • Pets are not allowed inside the building but can be taken to the parks.
  • Lockers and free WiFi available.
  • Smoking is not allowed in the premises.
